Spinning Brio

Brio is at it again!  With Kylomi back in control of the Facebook page, they are trying to direct traffic and scam money any way they can.  Witness their response when someone asks about the availability of classes:

Since they don't appear to actually have any educators anywhere, their "options" are likely a virtual class taught by Naomi.  Any bets on how much they charge?  A $50 fire sale come-on price?  A vastly over-inflated $595?  If anyone actually knows the answer to this question, please comment, inquiring minds want to know.  Also, note the new e-mail address:

A new e-mail address likely means a new Paypal or Google Checkout account.  Something new for the AAHCC to freeze perhaps?

  1. Wow, they just won't quit will they? How did they get control of the FB page again? I thought Karl owned all the rights or some such. I really wish we had been able to get the CO state's attorney on this. Its getting ridiculous!

  2. I hope Karl understands that since all of this is being done under a name he owns the rights to, a facebook page that he owns, and by employees of his, he is responsible for this continuing. Just ignoring it doesn't stop it.

    2. Really? Is Incredulous Karl or Ivy? http://smallbusiness.findlaw.com/liability-and-insurance/an-employer-s-liability-for-employee-s-acts.html

It is a common law doctrine.

Kyle held a press conference representing Brio Birth and tried to sell fake parking passes. Therefore Karl is liable for that as Kyle worked for him. Not to mention all of the money collected for Brio Birth through Embrion.

This is absolutely FREAKING RIDICULOUS. They are, WTF, doing it again!!!! They are holding trainings and I'm sorry but who in their right mind would believe this crap that their website is having issues? They tried that crap before. WTF people!!!! If they are a company that really relies on internet traffic and business and they had website issues they would be all over that shit to get it fixed. I am pissed and I usually do not post shit like this but this is absolutely unconscionable on their part and Karl's now. We ALL TOLD him to get it off of facebook. Now they are doing business solely on FB and will have more educators soon that will feel the sense of defeat. They are still marketing that workbook, too. They show off the same sample of the same workbook that has MAJOR FLIPPING IP issues. WTF!!!!??? Create your own shit!!!! I thought there was this amazing workbook and new system in place that was to launch wait get this, Nov '11!!! It was announced in July '11!!! Seriously, do others not see the scam? I am at just a total loss at what else could be done. I have warned and screamed as loud as I could. I don't know and do not understand this at all.

  4. I bet you that Karl is in the process of selling it all back to Kyle. Anything to make a buck...

  5. Except where would Kyle get the money? :)

  6. Maybe Karl will take an IOU? I mean he bought it in the first place, and believed everything Kyle said.

And if he takes an IOU then well that's his own fault. I'll put this out there, I turned the photo AND the page in for scam/spam. EVERYONE who was been scammed should do the same. I just wish there was a way to contact FB directly.

  8. I can't believe that there are actually people on the FB page saying they are interested in taking a Brio training. Perhaps birthscam could use their FB account and message them personally to let them know what is what. Just send them a link to this site and let them see for themselves.

Um, how is it a scam if they are giving it away for free?

      Delete
    2. If you don't know that Brio is a scam, then I'm not sure you think at all. They may give one away, but it is certainly in the hopes that whoever doesn't get it will then pay for it. They sold their workbook, their site, their name, their FB account, but continue to tell people that it is just a technical glitch.

How is that not a scam???

      "They sold their workbook..."

Oh crackers...I hadn't even thought of that! If they really did sell the workbook to Karl...then they are offering stolen property when they show the "sampler" of the workbook and say that Brio educators will be able to use it.

Ummm...Karl...if you have legal action going (I hope you do!), I can understand you being quiet here...but if you do not make some sort of a public statement on the Brio FB page (which will of course be promptly deleted) and the regular Brio page...I really think you are opening yourself up to even more grief if people continue to pay Kylomi for a product (certification and the workbook) that they can't deliver or don't own.

  9. Karl please put a statement about what is going on on the Brio website. There are people being scammed at this very moment, and you have the power to prevent that. Don't let more women be hurt, take action.

Thumbs up! You need to do this Karl. Talk to your lawyer, then put up some statement your lawyer approves.

Please help makes an excellent point! If karl owns the website, why not do a simple no firls website with all the truth and link backs to judgements? That would be simple enough! Again I urge you to turn the fb page in as well for scam.

  11. briobirth.com points to this post. This is my first time on this site in over two weeks. Directing the page here is an effort to allow consumers to make informed decisions. I cannot speak to anybody's intentions, but I can say that Kyle Thomas is a very skilled social engineer. Naomi is so delusional as to their present situation that she could not find a flaw in Kyle even if he were to slap her upside the head. I have been receiving all of the emails sent to an @briobirth.com email for the last month and there is a recurring theme: A lone trainer insecure about what is happening. Another trainer who attended training for the benefit of her own future students with feedback that she would never put her students through the training she attended. Disgruntled students who paid, then decided not to attend a scheduled class because of what they learned about the Thomases.

In an effort to preserve anything possible, Kyle has represented himself as me. He has took everything that was paid to the Embrion paypal account to bank accounts of in-laws or spent it directly from paypal. I have a claim with paypal that is ongoing, in order to refund the last payment to a student who will not attend training and has requested a refund. Chase bank also has an open case for fraud against Kyle. Facebook is also finishing an investigation of identity theft pending the findings of a local police investigation.

Kyle was never an employee. As the principle of Brio Birth, LLC, he used a Nevada corporation that never filed the necessary paperwork to be recognized as a legal entity to establish a paypal account. It would seem that the Thomases continue to operate as Brio Birth (as is their legal right). Contractually, I do own the domain and all of the intellectual property, so they will continue to use the intellectual property that is not theirs. I do not own the name rights. I retained my contracted assets and Kyle used my personal identification and information to access the hosted emails, paypal account and facebook page. I have been as cordial as possible until now, but now I have few options but to press charges for the crimes Kyle Thomas has committed against me. I will not presume to make others decisions, but there are some very compelling stories from people in the birth community to be found on this blog. Understand that many people posting in this blog are coming from a place of bad emotions. Garnish what truth you can from this page and demand answers from the Thomases, if you do decide to do business with them.

    1. My apologies for the poor grammar. I will use the excuse, this time, of it being so late. I just wanted to get something posted before any more damage could be done.

    2. Karl, it's worse than you think re: Naomi. Kyle HAS slapped Naomi upside the head, repeatedly, and it didn't help.

    3. Yes, I've heard of alleged (witnessed) abuse by Kyle towards her and the children. I am so happy that you have made a statement and are pursuing a course of legal action. It is the only thing that will stop them.

    4. Karl, which law enforcement agency are you using (you can e-mail me privately if you want)? I'd be happy to talk to them (because it will likely lead to even more charges).

It makes perfect sense that he never filed the paperwork in NV, though. That would mean providing a list of officers, which would have provided the "smoking gun" for establishing successor liability.

    5. Has anyone reported the abuse to the police? If so, what state & county?

  12. Karl -- I am standing up and applauding you WILDLY!!! THANK YOU for making a firm decision and taking strong steps to do what is right to prevent these people from continuing to hurt women in the birth community, in the general public, and yes, from hurting YOUR FAMILY as well.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Hopefully you will regain control of the FB page very soon, and once and for all be able to take this scam down.

  15. Google Docs, where they have their workbook teaser, has a Report link. Karl should report it as infringing his property.

  17. They are now asking their followers to tag their pregnant friends. Yeah- bring on the chum!! Are you serious?! I am so done with them! Anyone who was scammed needs to start reporting. The more they get, the more they catalog- they DO keep track- I asked. http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

  18. Is anyone going to post a clear post on what the mission and purpose of this blog is? People are being directed here, and it's a bit jumbled and confusing. Is there a time-line or something? A break-down of sorts?

  19. If you click on "HOME" upper left you can see all that has been posted since this blog began.

  20. I would recommend that you click on the "Files" link in the upper left corner so you can see the unethical, illegal, and horrific things Brio has done to the birthing community...including selling illegal/fake parking passes for pregnant women (http://www.9news.com/rss/story.aspx?storyid=267652). Kyle and Naomi Thomas must be stopped!

  21. BirthScam, maybe you could put together a new post hitting the major points against Brio, and then maybe Karl will repoint the site to that new post. Something explaining what we are trying to do and why.
